April: Money Month

It’s a new month in Cultivate Club!

This month we’re examining our relationship with Money
Look for the ✔️ which notes action items to take for the New Month!

“Prosperity is the experience of having plenty of what we truly need and want in life, material or otherwise.”

― Shakti Gawain, Creating True Prosperity

Celebrate!

This step is critical.

✔️ Take the time to celebrate the past month and record your wins and lessons learned.

✔️ Scroll back through your photo gallery. Do you have a photo from your Solo Date? Or Self-Care Experiment? Or perhaps a photo from a moment that represents a shift you’re seeing?
(Now’s also great time to delete any random screenshots or duplicate photos to keep your photo stream managable!)

Contemplate.

✔️ Download a fresh Monthly Planning Worksheet and start planning the month ahead with a focus on this month's theme: Money.

When considering your relationship with your Money, what do you need to clear? What do you want to cultivate?

Here are some ideas:

  • Cultivation Mantras

    • “I love money and money loves me.”
(David Cameron Gikandi, Happy Pocket Full of Money)

    • “There is no limit to how much I can earn.”
(Ramit Sethi, I Will Teach You To Be Rich)

    • “I run a profitable business.”
      (Mike Michalowicz, Profit First)

  • Boundary Mantras

    • “I will not buy things I don't need with money I don't have to impress people I don't like.”
      (Dave Ramsey, Total Money Makeover)

    • “I spend extravagantly on the things I love, and cut costs mercilessly on the things I don’t.”
(Ramit Sethi, I Will Teach You To Be Rich)

    • “I give every dollar a job.”
(Jesse Mecham, You Need a Budget)

  • Decluttering Categories

    • Office Items
      (Marie Kondo, Joy at Work)

    • Financial Accounts and Credit Cards
(Ramit Sethi, I Will Teach You To Be Rich)

    • Debt
      (Dave Ramsey, Total Money Makeover)

    • Mail/Email Offers
Opt-out of credit card offers (https://www.optoutprescreen.com/) and unsubscribe from promotional emails.

  • Solo Dates

    • Take yourself on a money date. Go somewhere inspiring (a coffee shop, beautiful co-working space, etc.), look at your numbers, and plan where you’ll spend your money that month.
(Ramit Sethi, I Will Teach You To Be Rich)

    • Decorate your house using Feng Shui principles to attract wealth into your life.
(Karen Rauch Carter, Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life)

    • Try Martha Beck’s Divine Decadence Exercise. Think of something you love (bath bombs, chocolates, fancy granola, mechanical pencils, etc.) and go to a shop to buy more than you could ever use and relish in that feeling of plenty.
(Martha Beck, Finding Your Own North Star)

  • Self-Care Experiments

    • Monitor your progress. Track every cent of income and expenses on a visible wall chart.
(Vicki Robin, Your Money or Your Life)

    • Rich Life experiment. Choose one major spending category (groceries, entertainment, transportation, etc.) and cut expenses mercilessly on items you don’t care about. Reallocate those funds to one category you love for your “Rich Life”.
(Ramit Sethi, I Will Teach You To Be Rich)

    • Earn more. Have one “Super Simple Sales Conversation” every single day.
      (Michael Port, Book Yourself Solid)

Connect.

In Cultivate Club, our small groups meet every other week as a primary point of connection for our members while they are on their journey, but you can also build your own community for connection!

What does that look like for you? Perhaps a coffee date or a zoom call after the kids’ bedtime with a long-time friend. Or maybe it’s couple people in your living room once per month for “real talk, real sharing”.

Enrollment in Cultivate Club opens once per year in October.
You’re always welcome to request a Guest Pass for one of our monthly Guest Experts, viewable on our events page!

💜 Wishing you continued cultivation this Money Month.
